My work centers around activism lending my lens to extend their voice and my art seeks to paint pictures over the top of the U.S.dominant culture individualism and assimilation . I have thirty years of photography experience and opportunity to capture various themes that form the basis of my art. In particular, my frontline work focuses on the contrast between cultures and class. I try to highlight the real hopefulness of life through my photography. As a mixed ancestry and lineage, woman of color ( Native and black experience) with disabilities.
As a multi-visual media artist whose art reflects that intersectionality of my life, I am attaching a small portfolio of my work so that you may get a sense of my artistic spirit as a latent, emerging artist. I would love for my pieces to be incorporated into a future art exhibit.
Besides the single sheet work of dry pastels, I use recycled, refurbished, reused, and repurposed materials. I also use dry pastels in order to reduce water waste. When making my art, I am thoughtful about how my materials break down in a landfill. I am an artist who is consciousness about my carbon footprint, and my goal is to minimize it through my art.
